Hm. okay. WELL.
starting on week one!!! i'm really glad we had such a good, soft thread to get us to where we ended up because yy was pretty instantly fond of wn. isn't that unfortunate. aside from the fact that they're from similar circumstances and time periods, he started off curious about his condition and then eventually, wanted to help him. his offer to take him to ghost city was a real one, and if he'd stop being such a fcking coward i'm sure he'd still do it. by the end of that thread he'd resolved to, and figured if he brought him and also wq's ashes, maybe HC could take care of it and they could see wen qing again! wouldn't that be nice!!
and then. MURDER HAPPENED.
SO those feelings rapidly turned into absolutely soul crushing guilt. i mentioned in our thread how much the entire thing reminded him of yizhen, which was the absolute worst thing that had ever happened to him, and it happened because he was weak then and lost his temper at the Worst Possible Time. he spent the entire day of the trial wondering if that just happened again, that he was so weak somebody took control of him this time and this time it ended in REAL MURDER. when i was threading with neena and she asked him about the ashes, i was 1000000% sure i was going to get caught, because it felt like taking care of wq's ashes was like, all he could still do. not even as redemption (because he didn't deserve that) but just like, it's the only thing to do. he kept wq's ashes on his person the entire rest of the time at the island, and protected wn's that he collected for the rest of the week so he could make sure his soul wasn't destroyed.... because he sure was the one to destroy his body. he'd offered wn a bit of hope and then like fucking murdered him not of his own volition 24 hours later what the fuck
side note if he would have seen him as a ghost he probably would have run a little less than he is in our thread rn but if only because tht was like, an inevitability. he knew that was going to happen if he protected his ashes... he would've just expected ghost wn to fucking murder him back which he really would have deserved and wouldn't have even tried to fight back.
and now it's over and we somehow achieved golden end, so wn is back. of course, he's glad, but that doesn't change the fact that he fckin KILLED HIM ANYWAY, so he feels soooooOOooo guilty and horrific that he's trying to avoid him as much as possible. he kind of hoped that maybe wn didnt remember it either? but of course he did! and now they're talking ("talking") about it and he just wishes that wn would kill him instead because this is now the SECOND TIME that he's caused murder (the first time didn't end in death because qyz was a god but god it was close) and THE PERSON WHO HE MURDERED ALMOST NOT ONLY FORGAVE HIM BUT WAS GLAD TO SEE HIM AFTER? WTF, STOP!!! it does not help because he's even more of a piece of shit for causing it to happen to such a good person. he himself is not a good person. he is a terrible garbage horrible person. when he told yizhen to kill himself it was out of years and years of anger at him, and this required no anger at all. he had absolutely no ill will towards wen ning and STILL was so weak that he DID IT ANYWAY. look at this perfectly nice zombie he attacked for no good reason!! he's the fucking scum of the earth!!!!!!! to say he's so unbelievably sorry doesn't even put it into proper words!!!!!!!!!
anyway he's like 50% freaked out he's going to do it again somehow and 50% unsure what to do with all of the feelings that are mostly just CRUSHING, AGONIZING GUILT, which is why he's trying to run fastly in the opposite direction.

i said it in the CR chart notes but i'm happy to say it again here too: mitsuri is the kind of person that yy really wants to be like. their circumstances as far as he got from her lore leading up to things were the same, but it sounds like her path diverged in the way that yy wanted his to, but ultimately failed at. by which i mean to say -- mitsuri is arguably one of the kindest people he's ever met, and he admires that sooooOOOooooOoo MUCH. he wants to be a good person like that, and was pretty easily drawn to her because of it. he appreciates how that warmth and kindness was completely unflappable even in just the absolute worst circumstances, and he's gotten the impression that she's a hard working young lady with a golden heart, who works hard to be on peer with the people around her, and never loses that warm streak of kindness.... which means he really likes her a lot. ;u;
he thought it was a bit odd that she took interest in him and was asking so many questions, but eventually opened up a little to her... which is a BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT, so i hope she felt good about it. HAHA. by the end, i'm sure it was pretty clear, but he was feeling really protective, too, which is why he tried to keep her from having to watch shinobu's overkill. :(
this was really tasty cr, i really loved it :9 stan mitsuri hours

ok first i'm still losing my ass over the strip search from the second trial. i cannot believe giyuu asked him about his cursed shackle AND the ashes. like it's such a valid question to have BUT ALSO, HOLY SHIT MAN, WAY TO ASK THE WORST MOST AWKWARD QUESTIONS POSSIBLE AT THE WORST TIME. an instant, one hit KO...... it was so funny skgjfh i was dying. please.
aight. well! looking back at everything, i think yy probably is mentally scolding himself for missing out on signs, or at least the ones of shinobu and giyuu working together... two trials in a row, two strip searches where going around with shinobu was the reason for odd injuries... it wouldn't have led to a murder but knowing what they know now, it would make sense why he might have thrown himself so deeply into trying to fix it all. was that to stop everything, or to break the curse for himself? it's hard to tell (hopefully it's both.) it's a bit frustrating to think that he was the executioner the week before, too and in a way, he feels for that whole "being compelled" thing because hey! :) thanks for that!!! :)
yy doesn't know that giyuu had to pick him or anything icly which is a good thing. even if he does find out--which, eyes CRAU--i don't think he'll hold it against him that much. he was trying to stop it, which was apparent now, and... as much as yy hates that he was made complicit in it, yy also 200% thinks he deserves it for canon lore reasons so there's that. he's got questions as to why him, but, he won't ever ask them because like, why do things that emotionally competent people do.
if/when they go to the other game he won't be as wary as giyuu might think. in fact, it might lead to them being allies even more, and not just for familiarity. aside from that, yy's discovered through this whole thing the two of them have a lot in common and that's only really grown. (though yy sucks for not compelled reasons so hopefully giyuu only sucked for compelled ones. who knows.)
i look forward to it ufufufufu...

giyuu's initial opinion of yy wasn't anything stand out...sadly. he thought he was someone who was resourceful and potentially useful. the interesting thing for giyuu (or at least mastermind!giyuu) was to watch how yy behaved after being picked to carry out murder and how he behaved during trial, which it in itself was interesting for him because he knew exactly who killed but he didn't know who killed who.
though as the trial came to head, he started to realize who could have done what (with the exception of the outlier kill) and kept his mouth shut. all they needed was another name for a sacrifice and he didn't care what that name was as much as everyone else around him. that said, since he killed the same week that yy did, he wanted to make sure that he wasn't caught no matter what, so he could/would throw anyone under the bus if needed.
good thing that shinobu figured zoe out so he didn't have to do anything :) ...this is all mastermind giyuu, ofc, but actual giyuu felt rather guilty about the whole ordeal because he saw just how kind yy was. he didn't come off as liking violence and even carried around the remains of the person he killed—one of the reasons why he asked him about them during the strip check. he helped him bury the dead... yy wasn't someone who should have been made to kill. though the island was like, "good job" because he had found someone who carry out the deed and wouldn't expose themselves.
...though if he had at a later date, then that would have been fine. blood for the blood gods and all of that.
NOW THAT GIYUU IS A FREE MAN THOUGH—he's full of guilt bc he's feeling nothing but he can think his own thoughts. he gets to really feel the emotions of guilt of picking yy and knowing that he felt bad for what he did. yy was the remorseful of the two he picked that week. so in regards of if crau happens (and yy doesn't talk to him at the endgame) then he'll feel as though there is ground there that he won't be able to walk on—a person he doesn't deserve to deal with. so. nods......

no one has a standout opinion of him its fine :ˆ) and if nothing, he's good at getting the job done.... i felt like i got caught i wouldn't have been IC too LJGKSDH so it was especially good there. despite the emotional impact he was a good IC pick so good job giyuu lol... i'm glad these two are just completely absolutely emotionally competent and will clearly have a perfectly great talk about their feelings and then it'll be fine (haha)
i still havent decided if i'm going to endgame top level or not (or just continue running fastly away, i gotta think of a prompt that is not that) but even if they dont and we do do CRAU he may actually find giyuu first... the like "are you being controlled by someone now? no? ok. great lets survive this then" u__u because i think it might be nice to confirm that those are his true colors, not mastermindy scary things. not to mention maybe he'll know whats going on (he wont but they dont know that ICLy so hey.) he's a professional guy. they can work together for sure. (and maybe use real words some day. punches them both.)

okay, yy has this whole thing about being kind, right? he thinks he's not really a memorable person and he knows he's not talented at anything so he wants to be known maybe for being kind, and thinks he fucked that up pretty righteously. so, people like flayn, who are just unbelievably kind, are important to him, because they're the kind of people he admires. he really, really liked flayn a lot. she was one of the people who was also able to unlock a little bit of lore and got him a tiny bit out of his shell, which is a huge accomplishment. he would not have joined waterfall party if she wasn't the one to ask, probably. (well, that or mitsuri. or maybe minako. why is he weak.) i'm so glad they met because of throwing fruit and it evolved into such a sweet friendship.
and then she dIED, SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. flayn's death shook him more than any of the others (except wn for Obvious Reasons). he was kicking himself throughout the trial for not putting together how ill she was faster and doing something about it... not that he would have been able to do anything about it, but besides the point. there was a reason why he volunteered to do the body check for her first, and she would've been the first body taken care of the night of the trial, too, probably buried in a pretty spot with lots of flowers. idk if you saw, but before trial talk went to rebellion he was going to work with dimitri on creating a memorial for her as she had done for the others!
and he's too much of a coward to go talk to her now that she's alive again because he's a HUGE GUILTY COWARD FOOL who is now running away from all of this at top speed and skulking around until their rescue boat arrives to avoid all possible contact with anyone. too guilty. this is why i haven't even top leveled you can't catch him emotions
