week one: voting
WEEK ONE: VOTING
Resting on top of a rock that looks almost like an altar is a larger-than-average conch that has a faint, sickly-looking purple sheen. This is the conch the mysterious voice spoke of.
You all have until the end of the trial to speak your votes into the conch. When you speak into it, those around you will not be able to make out what you say.
HOW TO VOTE:
Welcome to your voting page! Each week before the trial ends, characters must speak two names into the conch.
First, they must vote for who they wish to sacrifice. For many characters, this will mean voting for the person they believe to be the culprit, but if your character would vote for someone they don't believe to be guilty for some other reason, they are welcome to do so.
Second, they must vote for the person who they believe should be tasked with killing the chosen sacrifice. The catch? Characters cannot vote for themselves as executioner. Once the votes are all in, we will contact whoever has the most votes oocly; if they will not be available to perform the execution, we will move on to the character with the second-highest number of votes and so on. If no one who received a vote is available, we will RNG it and check for availability from there.
OOCly, you are allowed to change your vote up until the trial ends. ICly, the conch will be passed around to collect votes after sundown, so only your final vote will be considered game canon.
Placeholder votes are fine! If you have to step away, feel free to submit an early vote based on how the trial is going at that time you leave. This will ensure you are not idled out if you don't make it back before the trial ends.
Comments to this post will be screened; your character's vote will be a secret. If you have questions at any time, feel free to contact the mods. Otherwise, if this all makes sense, reply to the post with the following form:
